Screen Size Issues
Hey! I see you're playing on Galaxy! This game is designed to play in a full browser, so both of us would benefit greatly from you pressing the Expand button on Galaxy. Don't know where it is? It should be in the bottom left of this page, to the right of the Fullscreen button. Click outside of this modal to hide me for a day!
Dont want to see this prompt for a while? Click here!
Tutorial
Already confident? Click off this modal or refresh and it'll never naturally appear again! Instead, you'll be able to click the button in the bottom right to view it again.
Basics
The game consists mostly of playing across five tabs in a three-panel display. Panels: Chat
On the left half of the screen, you can chat in real time with anyone playing the game. Yes, anyone (unless they're muted...). Panels: Game
This is where the majority of the gameplay takes place. In here, you can do a variety of things as described by the Tabs (next page) Panels: Inventory
Every card you own goes here! You can sort it in four different ways, and page through it.
Tabs
The things along the top of the screen are the Tabs! There are five of them, and they affect the central (Game) panel. Click any of them to switch tabs. Home
That little A in the very top left is the Home page. In this page, you can see a list of what is currently going on in Abstractors, including Events, the Changelog, a thank-you to our artists, and even some very important Rules! Packs
Arguably the most important part of the game, packs are where you get rich! In this tab, you can click on any of the available packs to spend the related currency to open one, or alternatively click 'AFK this pack!' to start automatically opening packs.
Hovering over a set allows you to see the name, description, and price of the set. In the bottom right of the Packs tab, you can see some buttons for AFK. Profile
The profile tab allows you to look at stats for yourself and for everyone who has played the game. Additionally, at the bottom of the page, you can view your achievements by clicking on the accented button. Trade
It's not called a Trading Card Game for no reason! In this tab, you can trade with other players with their userid (click on their name in chat). When in a trade, click on a card in your inventory to add it to the trade, and click it again to remove it. Battle
Finally, the fun part. In this tab, you can use special Playing Cards (more on page 5) to fight other players! Send a battle request with userid, view your battle cards, or enter existing battles on this tab.
Currencies
At this stage in the game's development, there are two currencies. Monads
The basic currency, it can be earned by selling any card and is used solely to open Starter Set. Besides that, they unlock a couple achievements but that's about it. Flecks
A more valuable currency, you get them by Fragmenting an Abstraction 6 card (more on page 4). They are used to get achievements and to open Painters Pack and Astronomical Assets, packs with more valuable cards. Additionally, large quantities of them can be consumed to Acsend an Abstraction 6 card (more on page 4).
Card Enhancements
You've pulled a lot of cards, and your inventory is now full, so what's next?
There are a few different things that you can do with a card. Any of these buttons are found at the bottom of the card's Inspect menu (click on its inventory slot). Abstractions
By consuming multiple Abstraction 0 copies of a card, you can make one card of the same name become more valuable (2.25x price) and stronger (for playing cards)! The amount required to Abstract increases based off the rarity and the abstraction of the card you wish to enhance. You can tell the abstraction of a card by the amount of ⍺ symbols in its inventory icon. Fragmenting
You can consume an Abstraction 6 (the maximum) card to turn it into Flecks! Details on flecks are on page 3. Ascension
By consuming a lot of flecks, you can Ascend a card, which drastically increases its value (based off rarity of card, less rare cards have higher max and min ascension mult). Once a card is Ascended, it cannot be unascended, so choose carefully!
Playing Cards
Interested in Battle? You can check your playing cards on the Battle tab.
Each card has seven attacks, called Abstractions. They are numbered A0-A6, and correspond with the Abstraction level of the related card.
Each abstraction is more powerful than the last, but also costs more AP (Abstraction Points).
Each card has base stats, which increase based off abstraction.
HP - how much health a card has, determines its longevity in battle; ATK - increases most damage dealt; DEF - reduces most damage taken; AGI - determines the order of cards each round; ESP - the crit chance and damage of a card, rolled into one stat; AP - how much AP a card has at base, and how much it regenerates each turn;
This is the end of the tutorial! Is there something that you need covered in here? Feel free to ask me, and I'll add it!
